As my birthday arrives, I find myself reflecting on the quiet force that has carried me through so many seasons of my life: voice. Not only the singing voice, though singing has always been my river.
I mean voice in its many forms— the words we write in a journal before the world wakes, the melodies that rise when language is no longer enough, the stories we dare to tell, and the inner conversations we learn to meet with honesty and compassion.
This birthday week, I am grateful for every voice that has accompanied me, challenged me, sung beside me, and trusted me with its unfolding.
And I am grateful for the voice within—the faithful current that continues to guide me home.

One of the greatest joys of these past weeks has been meeting so many wonderful new students and interviewing exceptional musicians who will soon be joining our teaching team. It is inspiring to see our community continue to flourish through music, friendship, and a shared love of learning.
Thank you for your patience, your kindness, and for continuing to be part of this beautiful community. I look forward to sharing more regular updates with you again.

Thank you for being part of the School of Voice community.

This past year carried a lot of movement. There was growth and expansion, the shaping of our new studio in Prenzlauer Berg, new teachers and many new voices joining the School of Voice community. There were Singer’s Nights in new places, performances, albums, and songs finding their way onto stages and into the world. And there were also moments that asked us to slow down — including a serious car accident (thankfully without injuries) and, most recently, the sudden passing of my mom.
Thank you for being part of the School of Voice community. We look forward to continuing to walk alongside you in the new year — listening, learning, and creating spaces where your voice can unfold in its own time.
Wishing you peaceful holidays and a nourishing start to the year ahead.

What a weekend of voices, warmth, and connection. A little more than a week ago, we filled Al Hamra in Prenzlauer Berg with songs, stories, and a roomful of courageous hearts for our first Singer’s Night in the new neighborhood.
Then came Thanksgiving, and a week full of sessions, singing, and deep listening.
This weekend brought a little turtle time — and with it, the soft reminder that community is built note by note, breath by breath, gathering by gathering.
Thank you to every singer, and to every friend and family member who came out to support them. You made the night unforgettable.
