    Operatic Soprano, Composer, Multi-Genre Vocalist

Hi, my name is Litha Ashforth.

I am a full-time professional coloratura soprano, composer, and interdisciplinary performer. Classically trained at the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, I’ve performed leading and title roles across the U.S. and Europe.

While primarily a classical soprano, I have also built a career as a versatile vocalist fluent in gospel, pop, jazz, experimental music, and global vocal traditions. My work has been recognized with honors, including the Performing Arts Scholarship Foundation award at the Music Academy of the West, the Maestro Award from WorldStrides, and New England Conservatory’s Entrepreneurial Musicianship Grant. Recent engagements include Olympia in *The Tales of Hoffmann*, Gretel in *Hansel and Gretel*, and the title role in the world premiere of *Vespa* by Don DiNicola in New York City.

As a composer and sound designer, I explore the intersection of voice and technology. In partnership with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, I have developed innovative wearable instruments for live performance. My work also includes original scores for film and theater, most recently for Talking with Angels: Budapest 1943*, premiering at Theaterlab NYC in the spring of 2025.

At the School Of Voice, I teach voice, songwriting, piano, and creative performance. Whether you're interested in opera, pop, improvisation, or experimental music,

I look forward to helping you explore your full vocal potential.
